RSF expert councils completed yearly rotation

The RSF Supervisory board approved the results of the on-line vote to fill the vacant positions of the members of the Foundation's expert councils whose term expires in 2020. 10 outstanding Russian researchers became the new members of the councils.

The regulation on the RSF expert councils stipulates that the panel chairs and members of the expert council are approved for a term of three years and can be members of the expert council for no more than two consecutive terms. In line with that provision, in order to ensure the continuity and continuous work of the expert councils, the list of council members to be rotated in 2020 was determined. They are Alexey Buchachenko, Leonid Vaisberg, Alexey Kuznetsov, Leopold Lobkovsky, Azis Muzafarov, Vladimir Pastukhov, Elena Rykova, Alexey Tomilin and Irina Chernukha.

Voting was carried out electronically using RSF on-line platform. The invitation to vote was sent to the RSF-funded PIs and Foundation's reviewers, each of whom could vote for one of the candidates for each vacancy within their area of expertise. About 2 000 people from 485 research organizations from 70 regions of the Russian Federation accepted the invitation to participate in the voting. For each vacancy, three scientists were nominated, taking into account their professional background. For example, current members of expert councils, PIs without a doctorate degree, PI residing abroad or having warnings by RSF expert councils could not be nominated.

  • Igor Mokrousov, Head of the Laboratory, Pasteur Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Dr. of Biol. Sciences

  • Maria Lagarkova, Head of the Laboratory of the Federal Research Clinical Center of Physical and Chemical Medicine of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, Dr. of Biol. Sciences, Corr. Member of RAS

  • Yuri Stolpovsky, Deputy Director of the Institute of General Genetics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Dr. of Biol. Sciences

  • Alexei Didenko, Chief Researcher at the Institute of Tectonics and Geophysics named after Kosygin, Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Dr. of Geol.Sciences, Corr. Member of RAS

  • Galina Barysheva, Professor of the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Dr. of Econ.Sciences

  • Sergei Grigoriev, Head of the Department of the Moscow State Technological University "STANKIN", Dr. of Tech. Sciences

According to voting results, the new members of the RSF expert council for research projects are:

  • Alexander Terentiev, Deputy Director of Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Dr. of Chem. Sciences, Corr. Member of RAS

  • Pavel Moiseev, Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dr. of Biol. Sciences

Chief Researcher of the National Research Technological University "MISiS", Dr. of Phys.-Math. Sciences Dmitri Shtansky became the new coordinator of the engineering section in the RSF expert council for Presidential research funding program.
