The main agenda of the workshop included the analysis of recent changes in the science and technology policy of Russia and Korea, a review of new tools to support R&D, exchange of information on country priorities, including international S&T cooperation, the discussion of promising areas for IPR protection in the course of bilateral research projects. Each of the organisations introduced themselves and their work, before the some 40 attendees used the science and research networking meeting as a chance to talk about potential areas of collaboration and synergies for future joint activities.
Sergey Konovalov, coordinator of international projects of the Russian Science Foundation, was invited along to share the most brilliant discoveries by the RSF-funded research teams in the past year.
Speaking about the international activities of the Russian Science Foundation, the RSF representative drew the attention of the workshop participants to the decision taken in December 2018 about the possibility for principle investigators to apply for another grant in the framework of the international RSF calls in addition to the existing RSF grant:
"We expect this bold decision of our supervisory board will contribute to the development of our joint funding programs, implemented together with other international funding partners. "
